India Snarling At Its People Or The World?

14 Jul 2022

What does the newly unveiled national emblem on top of the new Parliament building symbolise for India in the new world?

India has always been perceived by the world as a relatively peaceful nation besides the communal tensions that grip the nation from time to time. A country rich in history, culture, traditions, and now, contributing to the world in so many areas through its young workforce has given the country a face lift. All this has been taking place under the reins of the current ruling party that has defiantly consolidated its hold on the 1.5 billion people from 2014.

Recently, the Prime Minister unveiled the national emblem on top of the new Parliament building that is soon going to be completed. This event took the country by surprise when the old and new emblems were compared. It is evident from the new look of the emblem, a loud and roaring message is being sent by the rulers of this country to its citizens as well as the world.

The image of the Prime Minister neatly trimmed for the world's eye to cast a redoubtable impression is triggering a series of power moves within the country.

While the unveiling of this new statue might not necessarily mean anything to most of the citizens who are ignorant of the undercurrent gaining momentum, there are those supportive of the current government and they are seeing the new emblem in a 'positive' light that is in line with the new image that the ruling party has worked at over eight years.

But when you look at the new emblem, you can feel the disconcerting tug inside your senses. One doesn't have to take a second look to feel that tug, just one look and you are directed to feel as if the lion is ready to devour you. In a nutshell, when you look at the new emblem you are no longer made to feel that you are in the presence of an animal that wields the most power in the wild but you are distanced by an aggression that traps you in fear.

This has caused a stir in the country amongst historians, academicians, political parties and even concerned 'thinking' citizens. While nothing much can be done about it, the ruling party will move on to the next big unveiling or reordering which would only add to the growing list of changes in the new and revamped India.

But this also conveys the possibilities that with a snarling lion looking at the world and its people, then any changes that the ruling party might want to bring are possible. Whether it is rewriting the Constitution, bringing in the Uniform Civil Code, or rewriting the very definition of modern democracy, it is all possible under the roar of the unwelcoming and ominous lions above their heads.

We are reminded of the image that Nebuchadnezzar made in Daniel chapter 3 and had people bow down to the image. Although this unveiling of the emblem is not a direct comparison to what Nebuchadnezzar did but it does convey a general sense of the times and where this could all lead.

India will certainly play a decisive role in the reordering of the new world order with China and Russia, which will lead to what is written in Ezekiel 38 & 39. Everything seems to be falling in place.

If the current events of the world and the changes taking place are affecting you in many ways but you are indecisive and unable to take a stand, take the first step by believing that these events were already proclaimed in the Bible.

Your hope is in the living God who is in command and who sent His son - Jesus Christ to give you eternal life by dying for your sins. Believe in Him and be at peace and the Holy Spirit will give you wisdom to discern and decide.
